Oleksandr (‘Sasha’) began his karting career at the age of five, quickly becoming a Ukrainian national champion in the “Micro” class. In 2023, he secured the FIA Junior European Karting Championship title, leading him to become the first Ukrainian in history to join the Williams Racing Driver Academy. Competing in Formula 4 with PREMA Racing, Sasha solidified his status as a leader: in 2025, he was crowned the E4 Rookie Champion, and in 2026, he achieved the historic title of F4 UAE Overall Champion, becoming the first Ukrainian ever to win a formula championship of this level.
Formula 4 Oleksandr Bondarev made history as the first Ukrainian Formula 4 champion. At the start of the season, he led the standings of the UAE Formula 4 Championship (UAE4 Series), securing decisive victories at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi and the Dubai Autodrome. By the end of the season, Oleksandr clinched the F4 UAE 2026 Overall Champion title, confirming his status as a leader of the Williams Racing Driver Academy and one of the strongest drivers in the world in his category.
Formula 4 Transition to formula series and the beginning of a partnership with PREMA Racing — one of the most successful teams in junior championships. In his debut season, Oleksandr demonstrated rapid adaptation and exceptional speed, winning the E4 Rookie Champion title as the best newcomer of the championship. This result established a solid foundation for further expansion into the world of formula racing.
Sasha will race with PREMA Racing & Kart Republic in 2024, representing the Williams Driver Academy. He got off to a fantastic start, winning the WSK Champions Cup. In March, he became the vice champion of the WSK Super Masters Series.
An incredible year for Sasha, winning the FIA Karting European Championship in OKJ with Kart Republic & earning numerous wins/podiums across Champions Of The Future & WSK Super Masters Series. This success resulted in joining Prema Racing & becoming part of the Williams Driver Academy.
Oleksandr joined Ricky Flynn Motorsport for 2022, and begun with immediate success, winning the WSK – Super Master Series title in OKJ. Sasha was involved in a serious accident in Spain, resulting in 10 surgeries & a long rehabilitation. He came back after 5 months & took 2nd place in the LeCont Trophy.
Sasha made his OKJ debut in 2021, representing Ukraine across European, World & other top level competitions - taking his first podium in WSK Euro Series at Sarno.
In 2020, Oleksandr made his X-30 Junior debut & continued in 60 Mini, securing 3rd place in the Karting Italian Championship (X-30 Junior). 2nd place in Trofeo Andrea Margutti (X-30 Junior) followed in November.
At the age of just 9, Sasha began competing against the world's strongest drivers in WSK World Karting Series & FIA competitions, rounding off an impressive season with victory at Castelletto in the WSK - Open Cup.
In a busy year, Oleksandr won races in Rotax Spain, Roax Portugal & Rotax CEE. He became champion in Rotax Max Challenge Central & Eastern European, aged just 9. At the end of the year he made a one-off appearance in WSK Series, finishing 5th as a rookie.
In 2017, Oleksandr partipicated in Rotax championships in the Spain and Portugal, winning various stages in the National Championships. In the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Final against the best in the world, he finished an impressive P6. In Portugal, he won the Bridgestone Cup & Portuguese Champions Cup.
Making his karting debut in 2014, Oleksandr was a winner from the start. In 2016 he was winning at a national level, becoming Champion of Ukraine.
